The end of Act 3, Scene 2 is very chaotic with a lot of back and forth between the lovers. As a result of all the sudden changes, the lovers have lost their bearings. Is change always disorienting? Should change be gradual or immediate? Which one, in your opinion, is better? Gradual change or sudden change? Why?
Change is not always disorienting because the change might be important in your life which you might not realize at first but in the future you might. I think that change is only disorienting in the beginning because you are not use to the change and might think that it may only have a negative effect but it can result in a positive effect in your future. I think that change is important and necessary because that is how you evolve in a new and better person. Change might teach you a lesson which may have a negative or positive affect on your life. I think that change should be gradual because that way you are more aware of the change and you will also learn how to bear with it, gradually. I think that sudden change is more difficult to deal with than gradual change. You are more astonished about it because you have not experienced it and it forces you to deal with it. Gradual change is better.
ReplyDeleteI think that although it depends on what type of change, most change should be more sudden than gradual as when the change is gradual, you can ignore it most of the time but when it is sudden, you are forced to learn to deal with it. By being forced to deal with it, you learn and grow as a person. By ignoring the gradual change, by the time it has become a big enough ‘problem’ that you can no longer ignore it, you would be completely overwhelmed. However, with gradual change, you can learn to cope with it slowly and that would be preferable. I believe that there should be a bit of both as it forces you to learn how to deal with it but also gives you time to do so. For example, when I had my headache at first it was gradual and I could cope with little to no medicine. Then it gradually became worse and we went to the doctor and we learned to cope with it further, etc. After two weeks under lots of medicine, the pain came back very suddenly and not knowing what to do, my body reacted badly.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, change isn't always disorienting. It depends on what is changing, as well as the speed of the change. If things change too quickly it can be confusing and it might seem like a mess. But if things change too slowly, you may not even acknowledge the change, so you would't be able to adjust as well since you wouldn't really know what was going on. For me, most of the time immediate change is better and easier because once everything happens, it's over with. If the change is immediate, you don't have as much time to be sad about what you're losing. It may come as a shock at first, but over time you'll adapt.
ReplyDeleteChange can be disorienting depending on the circumstance. If the change is abrupt, with no warming it it’ll most likely be completely disorienting. At the same time, if the change is gradual, and you know what’s going to change it shouldn’t be as baffling. I feel that immediate change is better. Instant change’s largest con/pro is the fact that it’s difficult to adapt to, but at the same time it gives you experience. It’ll help you learn how to adapt better to sudden alterations in your life, which are bound to occur. When I was younger, my family and I moved around a lot, and it all felt like so unexpected and rapid change. Although, this really helped me learn how to adjust to unfamiliar places better. Generally with slow and steady change, people tend to neglect it until the end, so it transforms into a bigger problem. Just because something is easier doesn’t make it superior.
ReplyDeleteI think change is usually disorienting but it always depends on the change. If its a gradual change it might not be disorienting because you don't notice the change in you for example if you gradually changed to the worst and to being a bad person your not going to realize that you have changed and just think that that is the way you have always been. so you would stay as a bad person. If it were a sudden change you would notice it right away and avoid being a bad guy. So in my opinion sudden change is better because you are aware of it and put it into perspective. A sudden change is also better because if a sudden change occurs to you for example your dad died, your going to have to learn to face the problem which will make you a stronger person, not physically but emotionally and know to handle and deal with harder situations in life.
ReplyDeleteChange is always disorienting for me. Whenever I have to make a large transition into something I start to freak out a bit. I find it a lot easier when the change is gradual and I can have more time to get my self settled and plan my future. When there is a change, at first I start to question my surroundings and find myself confused. In time I come to accept what is going on and learn how to take the right approach towards the change. Change isn't always a bad thing because sometimes change can make a better you. However without time you will never truly appreciate the change and you won't know how to move forwards. I always start off disoriented but with gradual change i learn to accept it.
ReplyDeleteI think that change is good for you; to train you brain to do other things. I think it depends if change should be gradual or immediate, but in this case I think change would be better gradual, so no love potion. I think gradual change is better because if you change immediate you might not feel comfortable with the change but if you change something slowly than you can get used to it and feel more comfortable. If you change faster it will feel weird and you might feel like it’s not right. You won’t like the change and you will want to change back to whatever you were doing before. That’s why I think gradual change is better than immediate change.
ReplyDeleteFor my opinion, change isn't always disorienting because it depends on what is changing. Some major changes can show more than little changes. They can be gradual or immediate changes. I prefer gradual changes because i can cope easier with them because I learn to grow up along with them. An example was when i was 11 yrs old i was about to become a black belt in Kyokushin Karate. I was told from my instructor and superiors that becoming one is really really tough. I had to fight 15 fights in a row with no brakes against adults who never gave mercy. To be honest it was the most painful moment of my life. I passed the test and became a 1st degree black belt and now i fight adults like they are punching bags. I only noticed this big change yesterday night when i got my instructor in the head with a round house kick. He said '' Wow i remember when you where tiny and always pushed more than everyone''
ReplyDeleteWhether change is disorienting or not, in my opinion, depends on the situation. See, if one is aware of the change that'll happen, then chances are, it'll be less disorienting for the person, or people it is to happen to; but, based on the person, the change could be confusing anyways. The same goes for something sudden, it all depends on the person/people it happens to, which is why I think that neither should be the sole Change, I think, should not be categorized as "good" or "bad", "better" or "worse", as no matter what, everything has benefits and downfalls, and should therefore be accepted either way, despite how it looks at first.
ReplyDeleteChange is not always disorienting. Sometimes it is expected, you planned for it, are ready for it, etc. Other times though, it is out of the blue. Like winning the lottery or other things of the sort, good or bad. If change were always immediate, everyone would go around like espresso-enhanced rabbits, jumpy, trying to figure out what the next change would be. On the other hand, if change were gradual to the extreme, nothing would ever change. Ultimate procrastination. I think a happy medium would be best. You have time to prepare, and it gets done.

DeleteI don’t think change is always disorienting. It does depend on what changes and if it’s sudden or gradual. In my opinion gradual change is better than sudden change because you can adjust little by little to what is changing. I think that if change were sudden it would be a lot more disorienting because you have to adapt a lot more in a shorter amount of time. For example if the seasons changed from summer to winter overnight it is harder to adapt to it than if it just starts to get colder day by day. On the other hand if you have a lot of sudden changes you will be better at adapting to change so both have their pros and cons but in my opinion gradual change is better.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion I would prefer gradual change so while it is changing you are slowly getting used to the fact that it is happening but in immediate change it just happens and you are forced to deal with it and I think that if it happens like that then it will take longer for you to get used to the change. Change is not always disorienting for example when I moved into my house at first yes I was a bit disoriented but after a day or two it was as if I lived there my whole life. Also my brother did not seemed disoriented or affected in the slightest because as soon as he walked in the house he went into his room and took a nap
ReplyDeleteChange is not always disorientating, but of course it depends on what type of change it is. If change is gradual, you have more time to adapt to it and are more relaxed when it happens. If it is immediate, it is quick and you get it over with, though it may be harder because you are overwhelmed of everything that is happening. I personally think that immediate change is better because it is after it’s done, it’s done and I wouldn't have to worry about it later on. Also, immediate change teaches you how to react to problems quicker, which will make you a faster thinker.
ReplyDeleteI don't think that change is disorienting. It depends on the situation and if it's sudden like bam you're 15 feet now or just gradual like you grow 1 foot every year until your 15 feet. I believe that gradual change is better than sudden change because I want to get accustomed to my surroundings. I don't want to be 15 feet overnight I want to be 15 feet in a few years at least. Adapting is key to success. From Shamar Thompson
ReplyDeleteI do not think change is reorienting but it depends on what is changing. I think change should be gradual so you have time to get used to it. For example the seasons if it's summer and your having fun outside, then five seconds later it's winter that would be a very bad change. Same thing goes with a day and night cycle, you need to do something in the day and go to sleep at night. But there are some situations where sudden change is good. For example when you lose electricity and it suddenly comes back on, that is a good sudden change.
